Iron Craft ’13 Challenge #22 – Diwali

I’m always looking for inspiration for Iron Craft themes in what is happening on the calendar with holidays, seasons, events, etc… For this challenge I was inspired but the Hindu festival of Diwali which started on November 3rd this year. Diwali is known as the “festival of lights.” According to Wikipedia, “The name “Diwali” or “Divali” is a contraction of deepavali which translates into “row of lamps”. Diwali involves the lighting of small clay lamps filled with oil to signify the triumph of good over evil. These lamps are kept on during the night and one’s house is cleaned, both done in order to make the goddess Lakshmi feel welcome.” So, your challenge is to create something using light. It can be something related to candles, electric light, a picture of light or even something that reflects light, once again feel free to think outside the box. Can’t wait to see what you all come up with.

Here are some ideas from our past projects to get you started and there are lots more on our Pinterest board.
