For this final challenge of 2012, we asked the crafters to make something with a little holiday sparkle. I had great plans of a beaded sweater for this project, but between having visitors, traveling and then getting a nasty cold that idea went out the window. Still, I didn’t want to miss out on doing every challenge of the year by missing the last one. So, I give you my pink champagne nails…
I did them yesterday for New Year’s Eve to represent the bubbles in champagne. I’m sure Susi is dying right now. We always joke about nail art and how it won’t be something we’ll feature on JCE. And here I am resorting to it.
Anyway, if you want to do nails like this it’s really easy. You just need pale pink polish (I used Sally Hansen Petite Pink), pink round glitter or small sequins, tweezers and top coat (I reccommend a fast drying top coat like Essie Good to Go). Paint one coat of the pink on all your nails and let it dry. Then one nail at a time apply a second coat of the pink and use tweezers to place the glitter on the wet polish. When you finish one hand, top with the top coat and let dry. Now repeat on the other hand. It is a little tougher placing the glitter on your dominate hand, so a friend can be helpful.
Hope you all had a glittering New Year’s Eve. I’m looking forward to a new year of Iron Craft starting tomorrow.
