Project Project Runway #9 House of Cornish

The assignment was to create our own textile print.
I have drawn on fabric other seasons. (And my followers will remember this. I do not want to bore the judges)

So this season, I painted!! Voila! A lovely water color effect.

I went WAY off the grid, and created a resort look. Complete with a bathing suit!

It is a boy cut bottom, to flatter Barbie, who’s hip joints do not need to be exposed. (who thought that Barbie had “figure flaws” which needed to be de-emphasized?)

The top is very “season 9” when we saw kaftans and long flowing resort wear A LOT. This dress has large sleeves, in white, and beautiful watercolor ombre on the bottom. I put in pleats and ironed them down to contrast the “flowy” effect of the cloth itself.

I am happy with the look. We will see what the judges say. You may recognize my model this week, the famous Belle! She stepped in by popular request. It was fun to work with such a celebrity!

It was a huge risk to do a bathing suit. But I wanted to make sure Micheal was not “bored”.
Happy sewing, see you next week on the runway!
