I can’t believe it, but we are only two weeks from starting another Advent Calendar Project! What is the Advent Calendar Project? Well, every Friday for the twenty-four weeks leading up to December 1st I will post a tutorial for a handmade Christmas ornament. I call it the Advent Calendar Project because if you do all the ornaments by the end you will have enough to fill an Advent Calendar. Of course, you can also just pick and chose a few ornaments to do along the way as well. I try to vary the type of crafts so you’ll find knitting, embroidery, crochet, painting, paper crafts and so on.
Here is a look back at the last three years’ worth of ornaments.

In 2013 we traveled around the world for our ornament inspirations.

Look for the first ornament on Friday, June 19th. And if you have any ideas for ornaments I’d love to hear them.

I dropped the ball on Iron Craft so I’m going to try this 🙂 I like that you post on Friday so I have time to get materials over the weekend!
Great! You know you can always jump back in Iron Craft anytime you want!
I am so far behind in Christmas designs this year. Where have the weeks gone? It’s already June! EEEK!
I know! It’s crazy!
I’m looking forward to it! What about a woven paper Danish heart with a more complicated design? See this website:

(It’s a bit cumbersome to navigate, but the patterns are fascinating.) Or the hearts can be made from fabric: fuse two layers of fabric with Heat’n’Bond Ultra Hold, and the edges won’t ravel.
I did do a simple one awhile back, some of the more complex ones you link to are very interesting.
Mini knitted mittens, obviously!
Oh, I just saw the ones you already did! Ah, well. I’m sure you’ll come up with lots of new ideas.
It’s really hard since I’ve done 72 already!
I loved your around the world advent calendar ideas. So did my children. What about a nativity theme?
I’m so glad you liked it! That was one of my favorite years too. I’m not sure I can do 24 ornaments around the nativity, but it might be interesting to do a few.
