Mrs. Darcy is all knit up.
Actually since I took this picture I have blocked out the curling & have set in one sleeve & sewn one side. My worry is its slightly too small even though I altered the pattern for a bigger size (it was originally written for a 34). It looks fine unbuttoned so I may just wear it like that though I’m hoping a good blocking once its all finished will make it fit fine.
So of course with that done I got to cast something new on…
On the last day of our honeymoon in October Matt came down with the flu so what was I to do but go to the LYS. I picked up enough of this beautiful soft yarn from Schulana to make myself a sweater. Oh & the yarn is called Alpacino, how funny is that. I’ve decided to make a zipper cardigan with a stand-up collar in double seed stitch for texture. I’m using The Knitters Handy Guide to Sweater Patterns by Ann Budd as a basic guide though tweaking some of the sizing based on my preferring a slightly tighter fit (really I don’t thing I need 19 inches at the top of my arm). If this turns out well Matt wants me to make him a zippered cardigan as well though he has said he wants his with two two ribbing for the cuffs with the rest in straight stockinette (seriously this is what he said). I love it when I find out he’s really been listening to me like that!
