Last week, I made a faux fur pom-pom for the Iron Craft challenge. Well, the pom-pom needed a hat of course.
This hat is a quick knit since it is done in worsted weight yarn and is just a beanie. Seriously, I was able to make it in one day.
I didn’t want just a plain hat though, so I added a twisted rib cuff and a classic color work snowflake pattern.

I made this hat over Thanksgiving break. The brim was way too large. My husband wears an XL hat, and it was still too large. The fair isle pattern worked up perfectly, though.
That is too bad, mine fit me perfectly, if not a little tight.. Were you getting gauge? I know some people prefer to knit the ribbing with a smaller needle because they tend to knit their ribbing a little looser.
What type of yarn did u use. I like the pattern but when I read co 144 sets w/worsted weight yarn seems like it
would be big
I used Patons Classic Wool. I knit it at 6 stitches per inch and the cast on amount is 130 stitches not 144. 130 divided by 6 is 21.6 stitches. Average adult size is about 22 inches.
What size in mm is the recommended needle?
I recommend a size 3 needle US which is 3.25 mm OR the size you need to get gauge. Make sure you do a swatch.
