This is it guys, the end of my year of mittens. I’ve designed and knit a pair for every month of this year. Well actually, in December I’m giving you a bit of a Christmas bonus as I’ve designed this month’s mitten in both an adult and child sizes.
If you haven’t guessed, these mittens were inspired by the movie Frozen. Crazily, I haven’t seen it, but I found myself attracted to the blue and white color scheme. The design is a mix of snowflakes, swirls and hearts which really could be considered traditional Scandinavian as well Frozen inspired.
I want to talk a little about the cuff on these mittens. Even though there is only 1″ of ribbing the cuff actually continues on for another 2″ for the adult mittens and 1″ for the child’s. So, you can see in this picture that it is a long cuff even though it isn’t all ribbed.

They are STUNNING. That is very exciting! Congratulations on starting and finishing such an amazing series! I am dazzled and inspired! – Susi
Awesome!
Thanks!
I am with Susi on this one–STUNNING. What a great series–even for a non-knitter 😉
Thank you for your support all year!
I am still at the beginning stage of knitting. You inspired with your knit peep and now a year of mittens. Next year I WILL KNIT ONE PAIR. What dedication to the craft. Congratulations, these really are lovely.
Thank you! As a beginning knitter, a goal of knitting one pair is great. Though they are addictive!
