Diagonal Scarf

I have been working on  this  Multi Directional Diagonal Scarf.   It is a free pattern, published by Karen Baumer. On Ravelry you can see 4292 examples. I LOVE this feature on Ravelry! You get to see all the colors, all the yarns and all the design choices that people made along the way. This is so helpful when it comes time to make a sweater. When I can see the finished piece on different figures and in different colors, it helps me to know if I think the project will be a successful choice for me.

The scarf was a pretty project to knit and watch the colors climb up the triangles.

Then, I blocked it! The top section of the scarf is unblocked. The ridges are very prominent, and with the color changing yarn, they even look a little bit like mistakes. The bottom section has been blocked. I used a steam iron and put it directly on the scarf. I shaped it a little bit, but just so that it was even. And now, it looks like a million bucks.

This scarf only uses the knit stitch, and some increases and decreases. It is a great project for a new knitter. Just watch what you are doing so that you don’t set out in the wrong direction.
Happy Knitting.
