Knitting Lesson #4

The fourth and final in our series of lessons was “finishing”.

We learned the mattress stitch to close the bottom of the bag. We talked about how to square off the corners and we looked at how to sew on the handles. (Start low and be sure (sure) not to twist them around themselves.)

We discussed felting the bag.
The class was SO fun! We have converted 8 new knitters into the sport (and the economy).

I offered this class as an item at our preschool Auction. I was the gift that I could offer to the school. And in the end, this turned out to be the school’s gift to me. I met some new ladies. I connected to some friends that I already knew a little bit. I knit. I taught knitting. I loved every second of it. Thank you to my husband for being so supportive of this new mission. And thank you to my knitting ladies for your warmth and enthusiasm. And your bravery to try something new in front of other people. It has been my pleasure. And, hey, look what we started! See you next week.
