Quilt of the Day: Mermaids in Black

This is a quilt on display at the CA Supreme Court building (at Civic Center in San Francisco) as part of a display for black history month.

There is a depth and richness in the texture of this quilt. It is heavily layered, almost more like a fabric collage.

Marion Coleman made this beautiful quilt. And others. Wow.
