MN State Fair Crafty Goodness

This weekend I headed to the Minnesota State Fair. One of my favorite stops is the Creative Activities building where all the crafts and a bulk of the food are on display. These two multiple-ribbon winning entries were so great I wanted to share them with you all.
Swoon!
Look at these beautiful mittens! The tiny, tiny stitches just blow me away. And look at how the pattern on the thumb matches the palms so perfectly! Seriously gorgeous!

Then there was this quilt. I wish I could have gotten a better picture for you, but it was behind glass in a room lit with fluorescents. First, let me say I love the theme, maybe a cow quilt isn’t for everyone, but it’s perfect for the fair. I love how the different fabrics were used to create the grays and black on the cow. Check our the subtle flowers in the grass. The quilting work was amazing too.

Have you ever entered anything in a state or local fair? Did you win a ribbon?

    • Wow. That quilt is amazing. And just the type of thing to make for my mom (she doesn’t actually have a thing for cows, but after she bought plates with cows on them it became a thing to get her more cow items).
