What is your name?
Silvia McFarland
Where do you live?
I’m originally from Lisbon, Portugal (moved to the US in 2001) and currently live in Brighton, MI.
What kind of crafts do you do?
Knitting, crocheting, scrapbooking, cross stitching, cake decorating (one of my cakes was once featured in Mailbox News Magazine, it’s pictured below.), origami.
Where do you get your inspiration?
Ravelry plays a huge part in that when to comes to knitting. Otherwise it can be a material in a craft store, something in nature, anything really.
What new crafts or techniques would you like to learn?
I really want to learn how to sew properly, do ribbon embroidery and decoupage.
Do you have a blog and/or Esty store?
I have a blog, it’s “Ao Longe o Mar”, Portuguese for The Sea From Afar. You can find it at quandoavistei.blogspot.com. It’s mostly in Portuguese but all the Iron Craft challenge entries are bilingual. I also have a translator gadget that does a sufferable job.
If you are a member of Iron Craft & would like to be featured here email us for details.
