#288 – Took way more time than it should have

Took more time than it should have!
Expected to get a bunch of things down today but turning the drawstring on Matt’s pajamas inside out took forever Next time I’ll buy a cord!

Handmade 365 2010- My goal is to spend time everyday working on something handmade for a year & photograph it.

    • I enjoy using elastic for lounge pants (sorry, that's the fabric salesperson in me… Can't legally say the fabric is for sleepwear…). Not only is it super quick, but I find drawstrings without elastic at best sort of cumbersome to use. Not that the tying part is all that hard, but it has always been sort of awkward for me to hold my pants up with one hand while I get the draw string drawn enough so they don't fall while I'm tying. But maybe that's just a personal problem! ha

    • Secrets – These do have elastic in them as well then a drawstring over the top of the elastic. I'm doing a couple of kids pairs next & may just leave the drawstring off.

    • I always sew a thin cord or ribbon to the inside of the drawstring so that it is attached at one end and is the length of the drawstring. Then, when it is time to turn, just pull the cord/ribbon and the drawstring is right side out. Then I cut off the cord/ribbon and I am done.
