Challenge 4: Hats Off To You
Challenge: Create an outfit inspired by & to be worn with a Philip Treacy hat. Remember “Matching is old hat.”

Time: You have 12 hours to make your outfit.
When I saw this hat I instantly saw the woman who would wear it in my eye. I saw her walking the beach of someplace like Saint-Tropez. I wanted to make her something that seemed effortless for beach or poolside but would still look fabulous over cocktails. The hat fabric read as almost gauzy to me so I repeated that by using a gauzy cotton fabric. A single oversized flower appliqued to the opening of the skirt adds a pop of color & interest. An open back & sides plus a high split skirt keep things cool while adding a lot of sexiness (plus show off her tan).

That is WAY better than the outfit made by the actual contestant! Gorgeous and perfect for the hat.
At first I thought this was the nuttiest project and I've never watched project runway so no help there. Now I love looking at what you do and each week, i can't wait to see the new challenge!
