#118 – Cutting Squares

#118 - Cutting Squares
I got over half the squares cut for my sister’s quilt today. I was having issues getting really straight strips especially at the folds. I read somewhere that you should never cut through more than two layers of fabric because you won’t get straight cuts but all my quilting instructions had me fold the fabric twice & cut through four layers. I discovered that is I iron those folds I get a much straighter strip & have to re-square much less often, losing much less fabric.

Handmade 365 2010- My goal is to spend time everyday working on something handmade for a year & photograph it.
