7 – Lori’s Mittens Finished

7 - Lori's Mittens Finished
Second set of mittens finished in 2010! And yes these are officially done right done to the ends being weaved in (I hate weaving in ends).
Lori's Mittens Finished
I’m very proud of the way the decreased turned out on these mittens compared to my pair. On these all the decreases are white creating a nice line. On mine you can see they are different colors. Now, I know how to write the designs in the future to get this nicer look.
Lori's Mittens Thumb Side
I didn’t do as well on the thumbs because I was more worried about matching the pattern on the palm of the mittens than how the decreases would look. I also need to learn how to pick up stitches better so as not to have holes, luckily I could seal the holes up when weaving in the ends. (The holes were where I picked up three stitches on each side of the thumb.) Anyone have any good tricks or tips to prevent holes when picking up stitches?

Stats:
Yarn: Vanna Choice in Rose Mist (Love the heathered color but does tend to split.) 1 ball
Vanna Choice in White 1 ball
Pattern: The colorwork pattern is from the Tapestry Mittens in the Holiday Gifts edition Interweave Knits 2009. I designed the rest of the mitten.

Handmade 365 2010- My goal is to spend time everyday working on something handmade for a year & photograph it.
