3 – Swatch for Matt’s Mittens

3 - Swatch for Matt's Mittens
Since I seem to be on a mitten roll these days, Matt asked me to knit him a pair of mittens too. They will have a robot on the front (his idea) and say “robot” in binary code on the back (my idea). He picked out this Patons Classic Wool in Leaf Green & Natural Mix to match his winter coat.
Gauge Swatch
Today I knit up a gauge swatch so I could start drawing the graph for the design. I knit the swatch in the round & binary code design to make sure the gauge would be accurate. Strangely it came out as 7 stitches & rows per inch instead of having more rows than stitches.

Do you swatch?

    • I hate swatches. I avoid them when possible and just go up a 1/4-1/2 needle size because I knit tightly. But, sometimes I pay the price for that.
