whew…

so much going on as today is three weeks until the wedding. it seems to be all about the details now & waiting for the permit from the national park service to arrive (they issued it back in july but are waiting until this week to send it to us…silly & stressful).

i finished the clapotis friday night & it is just the right length to wear over my dress if its chilly on the wedding day. this picture is awful but here it is.
finished clapotis
Pattern: Kate Gilbert’s Clapotis from Knitty
Yarn: Bouton d’Or New Bamboo
Started: Way too long ago
it still needs to be blocked & have a few ends woven in but i am happy to see this project over.

yesterday was my final dress fitting & time to pick out shoes. sadly these cute kenneth cole’s are going back
non-wedding shoes
after being dubbed not bridal enough with my dress (it’s a short dress so you really see the shoes.) and these dyeables from david’s bridal win out.
wedding shoes
so its back to david’s bridal to have them dyed again. this has been a bit frustrating as the first time they dyed them they had brown spots all over one side so they started over with a new pair. this time you can barely tell they dyed them & they are practically white so now after comparing to the dress they go back again today for hopefully the final dye.

then as a treat daria & i went to benefit to get new makeup so we’ll look fabulous (well more than usual 😉 for the wedding & photos & such. the girl who helped us out there was so fun & did beautiful makeup on us. you know how sometimes makeup counters make you look like you are a working girl? well, she made us look natural & radiant. i went a little crazy & bought tons of new stuff for both of us.
new makeup
the best news is that since benefit is close to where all the wedding stuff is happening the girl there agreed to do our makeup the day of the wedding…oh i’m thrilled i could never do the job she did.

finally it was back home for a favor wrapping session. i think they turned out very cute.
wedding favors
still have a few more ribbons to tie after a trip to the container store for more ribbon.

today we’ll go visit the wedding site with gabbi & kathy, who are going to do the day of coordination for me (so lucky to have good friends). its a beautiful sunny morning today just like we are hoping for.
Black Point Battery
yes, there is a canon on the site as its a civil war battery but its a beautiful knoll with views of the bay. it curves back further than this picture shows so the canon won’t be the backdrop of the ceremony. though there could be some funny pictures from that!

    • I’m wishing you a sunny day with perfectly matched shoes, perfect makeup, and no one pointing the cannon at the groom to force him down the aisle! (That cannon is TOO funny!)
      Clapotis is gorgeous!
      (((hugs)))

    • OH, Kat, you MUST get some pictures with the cannon! That could be terrific!

You got the Clap for your wedding? (Sorry, couldn’t resist.) It turned out great. One of these days, I’m going to make one, too.
