bowling shirt redo

Matt & I decided an activity for our rehearsal dinner might be more fun than a sit down meal. Seems like it might be easier for our family & friends to get to know each other better if they are doing something. So, being from the midwest the activity we chose is bowling. We thought it would be fun to have bowling shirts and I found a beautiful brown one for Matt. It was a lot harder to find something for me, We ended up ordering a small pink unisex shirt. I love the color pink of the shirt but the size was just too big…the sleeves hung below my elbows, the body was too big around except for at the hips & it hung way too long. I looked like a sack. Well, yesterday I took out my trusty Kenmore sewing machine (probably the best gift my parents ever gave me) & took a stab at redoing the shirt to have a little more of a girl fit. I took the sleeves up over an inch each, took the sides in & finally took over 5 inches off in length. Here’s the finished product…

the fit is still boxy like a bowling shirt should be but at least now it looks like its my size. I haven’t done any sewing in awhile & it was really fun to do it again, especially to be happy with the results.

I also whipped up a felted bowl last night

boy that couldn’t be more simple (& it makes a nice hat prefelting). The yarn is Cascade 220 doubled. Can’t wait to see it felted. I have an idea to needle felt some feet for it which I think could look really fun…stay tuned.
