Paul: Tiffany’s? You mean the jewelry store?
Holly: That’s right. I’m crazy about Tiffany’s. Listen. You know those days when you get the
mean reds?
Paul: The “mean reds?” You mean, like the blues?
Holly: No. The blues are because you’re getting fat or it’s been raining too long. You’re just sad, that’s all. The mean reds are horrible. Suddenly you’re afraid, and you don’t know what you’re afraid of. Don’t you ever get that feeling?
(Breakfast at Tiffany’s)I’ve had the Mean Reds for the past week & when Whip Up announced this weeks theme of “Your Surly Side” I knew I had to join in. I present Mean Red. Red has an antenna for extra sensitivity, claws (to scratch your eyes out) and big black boots for stomping around & kicking things! Fear the Mean Red! (though there’s something about him that makes you still want to hug him)
Red is knit up from red acrylic yarn with yellow & black for the trim. The black boots are needle felted & allow Red to stand on his own two feet. He was knit in the round & stuffed with polyfil.
