(For the 24 weeks leading up to December 1st, we’ll be making a Christmas ornament, giving you enough to fill an advent calendar.)
I’m sure some of you have seen those pretty holiday wreaths made from snowflakes. When I saw bags of snowflake buttons at Michael’s, I thought they would be perfect to make a mini version to hang on the tree.
This is a simple, simple ornament. I think it comes out quite lacy and pretty. I chose to add some colored beads to mine. The whole snowflake things reminded me of Frozen, so I added light blue beads. These would be gorgeous tied on simply wrapped presents too.
Mini Snowflake Wreath Ornament
Supplies:
12 snowflake buttons in two sizes, 6 of each size (do not get buttons with hanks)
clear drying glue
small glass beads in color of your choice (optional)
embroidery floss or thin ribbon for hanging
1. Arrange the larger buttons in a circle. Make sure the arm of a least one snowflake is pointing straight out from the circle to use as your top.
2. Starting with one of the small snowflakes, put glue on the back of the snowflake, place on the larger snowflake circle at where two snowflakes meet. Repeat all the way around the larger circle with the smaller snowflakes.
3. Glue on colored beads if you wish.
4. Tie a ribbon to the top snowflake for hanging.

what a wonderful idea. These are really, really nice–I might have to borrow (i.e. steal) this idea. These would make a wonderful embellishment for a wrapped gift.
BTW, can you tell that I REALLY, REALLY like this? LOL.
I’m so glad you do. It was so simple, I feel like it is a bit of a non-idea, you know.
I am thinking about doing this in paper. Maybe as a mini-frame around a school photo. So many ideas. So really, it isn’t an non-idea when you inspire others. Thanks for sharing.
It’s not a non-idea! I love it, too. Hope I can find the buttons at Michael’s.
If you can’t I saw lots of similar ones on line as well.
