Iron Craft Challenge #5 – Hey Buddy, Can You Spare A Dollar?

For this challenge we are taking a little inspiration from Project Runway and giving you a dollar store challenge. Show us your thrifty side and what you can make with supplies from the dollar store*.

Need some inspiration? We highly recommend you visit our friends over at Dollar Store Crafts. They have so many great ideas. As a matter of fact, Melinda from DSC was the only person who did all 52 Iron Craft Challenges last year. Check out the complete list of all of her (and Rhonda’s) Iron Craft projects.

Posting date is Tuesday, March 13th. Please only in-progress shots before that date. Tage photos with IC5 and IronCraft.

*The bulk of the supplies for your project should come from a dollar store, but basic supplies, glue, mod podge, etc… that you already have don’t need to be repurchased. If you don’t have a dollar store, look for other supplies that cost $1, even Target has a dollar section these days. Ok, folks in cities like San Francisco and New York, you may have to shop the $2 Store.

    • I missed Week #3, Warm Up, I think. I had bought all the materials from a dollar store, so I think I will make it for this challenge. I was really excited to do it but didn’t find the time. I’m happy to have another opportunity to do this with Iron Craft!

      • I realize people do want to craft from their stash, but the idea of this challenge is to use supplies you can get at the dollar store. So, I would say if you already have something that cost a $1 or less AND is something the dollar store would carry then go ahead and use it instead of re-buying it. This would mean you really couldn’t use things like fabric by the yard or other things the dollar store doesn’t usually carry.
