Challenge #1 – Lighting the Winter Gloom

The holidays are just about over & most of the Christmas lights will start coming down in the next week. I really miss that sparkle especially here in Minnesota where January & February can be a little dark & dreary.
Snow Day
So, this week let’s make something to bring some sparkle & light into those long winter nights. Create candleholders, lamp shades, lumineres, anything that will bring on the light!

Here’s some ideas to get you started

Baker’s Twine Wrapped Votive
Punched Can Light
Packing Tape Transfer Votives
Hanging Votive Globes
Cut Paper Votives
Branch Candle Holder
Rickrack Lampshade

Post pictures of your completed project to the Flickr group on Wednesday, January 5th. Only in progress pictures may be posted before that date.

Please tag pictures with IC1 & if you have a blog post about your project leave the URL in the photos description. I’ll do a wrap up of the completed projects on the blog the Friday or Saturday following.

    • When I first read through the challenge, I remembered a nice little project that I've done in the past, but not recently. So I was very excited to try it again and actually assembled it tonight. Now I've come back and looked more closely at the suggestions. I feel that perhaps my project doesn't fall along these lines but it definitely is a light object.

The finished product for my project isn't very permanent and definitely not reusable. Is that OK?
