growing blanket

I’ve finally had some time to knit lately as all the wedding plans are coming together nicely. My main project has been the blanket for my new nephew. He’s arriving September 13th so I’m on a clock.

I’m just about halfway done at this point. I love the color & the feel of the yarn (Knit Picks Crayon) but I have to say its a pain to get the balls started! It so hard to find the end in the middle of the ball & you end up pulling half the ball out to get it. Here’s another picture to give you an idea of size.

The squares are about 13 x 13 each (originally they were supposed to be 12 x 12 but I must have gotten my gauge wrong slightly & didn’t think it mattered enough to rip out) and the blanket will end up being 45 x 45. I love the fact that I will have no seaming to do at the end.

    • That is really nice!!! What pattern is that? I really like the fact that it looks like there is no seaming. Is it done with the use of intarsia?? So many questions!!
